Ingredients

  • 2 (two) lbs ground beef or ground turkey

  • 1 (one) yellow onion, medium dice

  • 1 (one) to 2 (two) tsp of vegetable oil

  • 1 (one) 28oz can of diced tomatoes

  • 1 (one) 28oz can of tomato sauce

  • 4 (four) 15oz cans of beans (dark red kidney, light red kidney, black beans-whatever you’d like)

  • 1 (one) bottle of amber style beer (such as Yazoo Gerst or Yuengling)

  • 1 (one) bottle of EVO Salsa - Original, Spicy Roja, or Nashville Hot are our personal favorites

  • 1 (one) tbsp of kosher salt

  • 2 (two) tbsp of ground cumin

  • 1 (one) tsp of coarse ground black pepper

  • 2 (two) tsp of granulated garlic

  • 1 (one) tbsp chili powder

  • 2 (two) tsp paprika

Directions

  1. In a large stockpot or Dutch oven, heat oil over medium heat.

  2. Add diced onions and ground meat.

  3. Brown meat and if using ground beef, drain off grease and return meat to the pot.

  4. Next, add your spices and stir until blended. Taste the meat and adjust seasoning if needed.

  5. Add beer and simmer 4-5 minutes.

  6. Then add diced tomatoes, tomato sauce and EVO.

  7. Stir together.  Add drained, rinsed beans and stir together.

  8. Simmer — it only takes about 15 minutes for all the flavors to come together.

  9. Serve hot with your favorite toppings!
